Ground Systems Engineer (Contract) – Secret Cleared

We’re supporting an urgent defence and space programme and are looking for an experienced Ground Systems Engineer to join the team on a contract basis in El Segundo, California.

This is an immediate requirement, so we’re looking to speak with qualified candidates as soon as possible.

The Role

You’ll provide systems engineering expertise across secure military satellite communications programmes, working closely with government stakeholders, engineers, and programme teams to support the development and integration of ground and airborne systems.

This role is fully onsite due to the secure nature of the programme.

Required Experience

• Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret
• Bachelor’s degree
• 15+ years of Systems Engineering experience
• Experience supporting MILSATCOM programmes, including one or more of:
• AEHF
• PTS
• EPS
• WGS
• FAB-T terminal programmes
• Experience working with military personnel and DoD civilians
• Experience with ground and airborne systems, including terminals and networks
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work onsite in a secure facility

Desirable Experience

• Active TS/SCI clearance (or eligibility to obtain one)
• Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or another technical discipline
• Master’s degree in a relevant technical field or Space Systems
• Experience with mission planning, COMSEC/TRANSEC or key management
• Strong technical leadership and systems engineering experience
• Experience working within Agile environments
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
