We’re supporting an urgent defence and space programme and are looking for an experienced Ground Systems Integration Lead to join the team on a contract basis in El Segundo, California.

This is an immediate requirement supporting high-profile national security space programmes, and we’re looking to receive CVs as soon as possible.

The Role

You’ll lead the integration of complex ground and space systems across secure military satellite communications programmes, ensuring successful integration between space and ground segments throughout the programme lifecycle.

Working closely with government customers, military stakeholders and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you’ll provide technical leadership across systems engineering, architecture and integration activities.

Due to customer security requirements, this role is fully onsite in a secure facility.

Required Experience

• Active Top Secret Security Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline
• 15+ years of experience in systems engineering, systems integration or architecture development for complex aerospace, defence or space systems
• Experience supporting MILSATCOM programmes, including one or more of:
• AEHF
• PTS
• EPS
• WGS
• FAB-T terminal programmes
• Demonstrated experience integrating space and ground segments across national security space, MILSATCOM or related space programmes
• Experience working with military personnel and DoD civilians
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work onsite in a secure facility

Desirable Experience

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Systems Engineering
• Experience with mission planning, COMSEC/TRANSEC or key management
• Strong systems engineering and technical leadership experience
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence
• Technical certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+ or SAFe
• INCOSE CSEP/ESEP certification or equivalent systems engineering credentials
• PMP or other project/programme management certification
