We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Geospatial Web Developer to join our NewSpace Client – 100% Remote within Europe on a Full-Time basis.

Our client utilises Earth Observation and geospatial data to develop a Geospatial data platform that supports critical decisions affecting climate, ecosystems, and human lives.

They have a fairly established and complex frontend that now needs reform. We’re seeking someone who has real seniority in geospatial web development frontend engineering: someone who can step in, clean things up, take ownership, and help architect a frontend that is robust, scalable, and built for the future.

This is your opportunity to lead and modernise a critical piece of a platform with global impact.

What You’ll Do:

• Refactor and improve a complex, production-grade frontend codebase
• Lead frontend architecture decisions with a focus on long-term maintainability
• Build intuitive, performant interfaces for interacting with spatial data and satellite imagery
• Collaborate closely with backend (Python), Geodata, and data science teams
• Implement robust testing strategies to ensure quality at scale
• Optimise performance and responsiveness for global users

The Tech Stack:

• Frontend: Angular or Similar: React, Vue, TypeScript, Redux, Next.js, TailwindCSS
• Mapping/Geospatial: Mapbox GL JS, OpenLayers, Leaflet, Deck.gl, Turf.js
• Backend (Nice to Have): Python (FastAPI, Flask)
• Tiling Services: TiTiler, TiPG (familiarity is a plus)
• Tooling: GitHub, Vite/Webpack, Storybook, Jest, Cypress

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of strong experience as a frontend developer
• Solid knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web development principles
• Significant experience with frontend frameworks (React, Angular or similar a plus)
• Experience with map libraries like Mapbox GL JS, Leaflet, or OpenLayers
• Solid understanding of frontend testing tools and methodologies
• Familiarity with tiler servers (e.g. TiTiler, TiPG)
• Proven ability to lead frontend development and refactoring projects
• Comfortable working remotely in a collaborative, agile team
