We’re supporting an urgent defence and space programme and are looking for an experienced Senior DoD Acquisition Specialist to join the team on a contract basis in El Segundo, California.

This is an immediate requirement supporting high-profile national security space programmes, and we’re looking to receive CVs as soon as possible.

The Role

You’ll provide strategic acquisition and programme support across complex Department of Defense programmes, working closely with government customers and programme leadership to guide acquisition activities through key programme milestones.

You’ll apply DoD acquisition policy and best practices while supporting programme execution across defence and space systems.

Due to programme security requirements, this role is fully onsite.

Required Experience

• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of experience in DoD weapon systems acquisition, programme management and/or contracts management
• Experience leading ACAT I acquisition programmes through major acquisition milestones
• Strong understanding of DoD acquisition policies and processes
• Working knowledge of DoDI 5000.85 and DoDI 5000.87
• Experience working directly with DoD customers and stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Desirable Experience

• Active Top Secret Clearance
• Master’s degree
• Ground systems acquisition experience
• MILSATCOM programme experience
• Systems engineering experience
• DoD acquisition certifications
• INCOSE ESEP or CSEP certification
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, cloud architectures, and relational/non-relational databases
