Are you a skilled DevSecOps or Platform Engineer looking for a hands-on contract role supporting mission-critical cloud infrastructure and secure software deployments?
On offer is a 2-year contract working onsite with a leading defense technology organization. You’ll be instrumental in designing and maintaining cloud-native DevSecOps pipelines, infrastructure-as-code workflows, and secure containerized applications, ensuring compliance with top-tier security standards and enhancing resilience across environments.
This position would suit an engineer with a strong DevSecOps background and the ability to thrive in secure, agile development environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).
* Automate cloud provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, and similar IaC tools.
* Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD.
* Deploy and manage containerized microservices in Kubernetes (EKS, AKS).
* Maintain and improve Helm charts and Docker-based deployments.
* Enhance logging and monitoring systems with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Splunk.
* Conduct vulnerability assessments, security monitoring, and response automation.
* Ensure alignment with NIST 800-171 and similar compliance frameworks.
* Optimize cloud cost, security, and performance in collaboration with other teams.
* Develop training materials and promote DevSecOps practices across the organization.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
* 5+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure, or Security Engineering.
* Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, CI/CD principles, and container orchestration.
* Experience with Linux systems, scripting (Python, Bash), and git-based workflows.
* Familiarity with SAST, DAST, IDS/IPS, and SIEM tools.
* Must be eligible for DoD Secret clearance.
* Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
