We are partnering with an exciting NewSpace company developing next-generation technologies for space intelligence, orbital awareness, and advanced spacecraft operations.
They are looking for an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to build, automate, and secure the software supply chain supporting mission-critical space systems. You will sit at the intersection of product engineering and cloud infrastructure, owning the path from a developer’s commit through automated build, testing, security scanning, packaging, and deployment.
This is a full-time, onsite role for an engineer with strong hands-on experience across modern CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, containerisation, and security. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the digital infrastructure supporting advanced space systems.
Salary: $145,000-$170,000 USD, with some flexibility depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Administer and manage GitLab and CI/CD platforms, including runner fleets, project and group structures, pipeline configuration, and application-level security features.
Configure, maintain, and optimise robust CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying software within constrained and air-gapped cloud environments.
Own product packaging and self-service deployment workflows using AWS Service Catalog, maintaining approved portfolios and products for safe and repeatable infrastructure provisioning.
Manage and secure containerised workflows, including building, scanning, and publishing OCI images to Amazon ECR, including cross-account distribution.
Integrate security tooling and best practices throughout the development lifecycle, including SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets scanning, SBOM generation, and software provenance.
Work within zero-trust and air-gapped network environments, collaborating closely with cloud platform and network security teams.
Support security compliance and continuous monitoring activities aligned with NIST 800-171 and/or NIST 800-53.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and pipeline-level security monitoring using Infrastructure as Code.
Collaborate closely with software engineering and cloud platform teams to improve developer workflows, automation, reliability, and security.
Mentor other engineers on DevSecOps practices, tooling, and secure software delivery.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of professional experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a related role.
Hands-on experience with AWS, ideally including experience working within AWS GovCloud or similarly regulated environments.
Significant experience administering GitLab, including CI/CD pipeline configuration, runner management, and security features.
Strong understanding of building, securing, and managing container images and containerised workflows.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation/CDK, Helm, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of modern software development and deployment practices.
Must possess or be willing and eligible to obtain a United States Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance.
Experience with AWS Service Catalog and/or Landing Zone Accelerator.
Strong scripting or programming experience, particularly with Python; Go or PowerShell experience is a plus.
Experience working in regulated or security-focused environments and building auditable, evidence-generating pipelines, including SBOMs, security scan reports, software signing, and provenance.
Familiarity with NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, or DoD security frameworks.
Relevant industry certifications such as AWS Security – Specialty, CISSP, or GitLab certifications.
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
Experience working with air-gapped, self-hosted, or zero-trust environments.
Experience supporting mission-critical software or infrastructure within the aerospace, defence, space, or other highly regulated industries.
You will work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, software engineering, and space technology, helping build the secure digital infrastructure required to support advanced space missions.
This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging problems across CI/CD automation, AWS, containerisation, Infrastructure as Code, security tooling, software supply chains, and secure cloud environments, while helping enable the next generation of space systems.
