Electrical / Magnetics Engineer (Satellites / Spacecraft)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States

Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site

Package: Competitive Salary + Equity + Benefits + Flexible PTO

Are you an Electrical Engineer with strong experience in spacecraft hardware, EMI/EMC, and magnetics, looking to work on high-performance satellite systems?

On offer is the opportunity to join a high-growth space company building next-generation satellite platforms through advanced computational engineering. You’ll play a key role in the design, integration, and testing of electrical systems, with a specialist focus on magnetic cleanliness and control-critical for sensitive payload performance.

Join a team redefining satellite engineering with a first-principles approach, combining rapid design iteration, hardware integration, and system-level optimisation. You’ll work across avionics subsystems, electrical interfaces, and environmental validation, ensuring spacecraft meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

This position would suit a hands-on electrical engineer who enjoys working close to hardware-someone comfortable designing, testing, debugging, and owning complex electrical systems in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the subject matter expert for magnetic control, including modelling magnetic dipoles and ensuring magnetic cleanliness

* Lead EMI/EMC and magnetics control plans, including environmental testing and compliance

* Support electrical interface design, integration, and testing, including PCB and harness design

* Develop and support avionics subsystems and flatsat environments

* Create and manage electrical integration procedures across spacecraft builds

* Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate electrical systems with wider spacecraft subsystems

* Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

* Document system design, testing, and performance

* Provide guidance and training on magnetics and electrical best practices

Essential Skills and Experience

* Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar

* 5+ years of hands-on experience in spacecraft or high-reliability electrical engineering

* Strong expertise in magnetics, including magnetometers, field modelling, and shielding design

* Experience debugging PCB systems using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and rework tools

* Proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or similar)

* Experience working to aerospace standards (e.g. NASA GEVS or similar)

* Experience working in cleanroom environments and following ESD protocols

* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Desirable Skills

* Experience with spacecraft avionics systems or subsystem integration

* Background in EMI/EMC testing and validation

* Experience in fast-paced aerospace or high-growth engineering environments
