Structural Engineer – Space Systems & EO Satellites
Location: Remote or Hybrid
Satellite Technology & Space Engineering

Do you want to design the structures that will carry tomorrow’s spacecraft into orbit?

Join our NewSpace client – a growing, mission-driven engineering team building advanced satellite platforms that enable the next generation of space-based Earth observation and data systems.

The Role
We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, and optimisation of satellite structural components and assemblies. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of engineers to ensure structural integrity, manufacturability, and mission success across all spacecraft systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of lightweight, high-performance structural components for satellites and subsystems.
  • Perform detailed structural and vibration analyses using FEA tools to validate designs for launch and on-orbit environments.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, and systems engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support material selection, manufacturing process definition, and assembly methods.
  • Create and maintain CAD models, technical drawings, and associated documentation.
  • Contribute to design reviews, analysis reports, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support structural testing, verification, and validation campaigns.

Location
This position offers flexibility for remote or hybrid work in Germany or Belgium.
Occasional travel for supplier visits or team workshops may be required. Exceptional candidates across Europe may also be considered.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in structural design and analysis, ideally within the aerospace or space sector.
  • Proficiency in FEA tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or Abaqus.
  • Experience using CAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA, or Autodesk Inventor).
  • Understanding of space-grade materials, structural testing methods, and load environments.
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with ECSS, NASA, or equivalent aerospace standards.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical subsystems such as mechanisms, actuators, or thermal hardware.
  • Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

Why Join

  • Be part of an ambitious team developing next-generation satellite systems.
  • Work in a flexible, inclusive environment with remote and hybrid options.
  • Competitive compensation and opportunities for growth.
  • Contribute to meaningful missions that leverage space technology for global impact.
