Senior RF Test Engineer

Denver, Colorado | Full-Time | On-Site

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with an innovative aerospace company developing next-generation RF communication technologies for advanced space systems. As part of a fast-growing engineering team, you will play a key role in developing, validating, and optimising high-performance RF hardware used in demanding mission-critical applications.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across the full RF test lifecycle, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, scalable test solutions for cutting-edge communication systems supporting space and aerospace platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement RF test plans, procedures, and automated test solutions.

  • Develop reusable RF test architectures and frameworks to support product verification and validation.

  • Perform RF characterisation and performance testing using industry-standard laboratory equipment.

  • Analyse RF measurement data, identify performance trends, and communicate technical findings to engineering teams.

  • Work closely with RF, hardware, firmware, software, and systems engineers throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Support Design for Test (DFT) activities from early development through to qualification.

  • Troubleshoot complex RF hardware and test system issues.

  • Manage laboratory equipment, support calibration activities, and contribute to future equipment selection and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Produce clear technical documentation and participate in engineering design reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • 6+ years of industry experience designing, developing, and implementing RF test systems.

  • Strong knowledge of RF measurements, including:

    • Error Vector Magnitude (EVM)

    • Linearity

    • Noise Spectral Density (NSD)

    • Gain

    • Phase Noise

  • Experience developing RF test architectures, automation frameworks, and reusable test procedures.

  • Hands-on experience with RF laboratory equipment, including:

    • Vector Network Analyzers (VNA)

    • Vector Signal Generators (VSG)

    • Vector Signal Analyzers (VSA)

    • Spectrum Analyzers

    • Digital Oscilloscopes

  • Experience with RF test automation and scripting.

  • Good understanding of statistics, metrology, and measurement uncertainty.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience testing phased array or beamforming RF systems.

  • Programming or scripting experience using Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar languages.

  • Understanding of RF and mixed-signal hardware, including amplifiers, filters, ADCs/DACs, antennas, and high-speed communication hardware.

  • Previous experience within the space, satellite, aerospace, or defence sectors.
