NewSpace Technical are urgently seeking an experienced Senior Optical Designer to join our client who are global market leaders in their segment of the Space Industry!

As a Senior Optical Design Engineer, you will guide the design, development, and analysis of cutting-edge optical payload products. This role encompasses end-to-end responsibility, from requirements generation to integration and verification testing, ensuring their systems achieve unparalleled performance and reliability.

This is a fully remote role with the ideal candidate to be residing in Europe.

Qualifying candidates must have:

• Master’s or PhD in Optical Design, Optical Engineering or related
• 8+ years hands on experience with optical system design and analyses
• Commercial experience integrating, aligning and testing optical systems for Earth Observation (Whole value chain)
• Space Sector work experience
• Programming experience with Python or C++
• Utilised optomechanical design software like SigFit and Zemax
