Salary: Up to $180,000 base plus equity & a great benefits package!

NewSpace Technical are looking for a Senior Ground Software Engineer to enhance our NewSpace client’s satellite operations and ground software division. In this role, you will execute targeted tasks with various space-based sensors and develop a scheduling algorithm for their fleet of Earth Observation Satellites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the operations and software teams to implement precise tasking strategies for satellite missions.
- Design, optimize, and refine a scheduling algorithm to effectively manage satellite resources.
- Validate tasking strategies and monitor spacecraft health to ensure mission effectiveness.
- Utilize software APIs to handle data, facilitating robust communication between ground systems and satellites.
- Contribute to the development and architecture of software systems, emphasizing interface design, distributed systems, and testing methodologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or aerospace, Astronautical Engineering or similar
- A minimum of 5 years in the Space, or Aerospace Sector
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python and/or C++.
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems, including scripting and command-line usage.
- Strong foundation in software architecture: highly distributed systems and robust testing (APIs)
- Experience in verifying tasking strategies and monitoring spacecraft health is desirable.
- Excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively across various engineering and non-engineering disciplines.
