Are you a systems engineer with a passion for solving complex integration challenges across high-impact satellite communications programs?
On offer is a 2-year contract supporting a major defense technology effort, where you’ll play a critical role in managing enterprise requirements, conducting technical analysis, and supporting integration across a large, multi-stakeholder program. You’ll collaborate with both government and contractor teams to close requirement gaps and ensure traceability through all system levels using Model Based Systems Engineering methods.
This position would suit an experienced Systems Engineer ready to lead in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Apply MBSE practices to support development and traceability of system technical baselines.
* Analyze system-level requirements and verification paths across enterprise and component levels.
* Work with government and contractor teams to resolve integration and requirement flow-down issues.
* Lead and support technical working groups by preparing materials, facilitating discussion, and capturing actions.
* Review technical change proposals for enterprise-level and cross-stakeholder impacts.
* Facilitate program documentation reviews and help adjudicate stakeholder feedback.
* Serve as a subject matter expert for Air Force management teams.
* Support risk and issue tracking, schedule alignment, and interdependency resolution planning.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical field.
* 10+ years of experience in systems engineering.
* 7+ years of experience in satellite communications programs.
* Familiarity with MBSE methodologies and supporting toolsets.
* Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for interfacing with technical and executive stakeholders.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
Eligibility
* U.S. Citizenship required.
* Must be able to work on-site in El Segundo, CA.
* Contract role: 2-year duration.
* Minimal travel required.
