Principal / Senior FPGA Design Engineer (Space Communications)
Location: Denver, CO
Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Package: $140,000K – $182,000K Base + Equity + Benefits + Flexible PTO

Are you an FPGA engineer who thrives on pushing the boundaries of high-performance digital design? Want to build real-time communication systems for satellites, UAVs, and launch vehicles?

On offer is the opportunity to join a fast-growing space technology company developing next-generation communication systems for orbital and airborne platforms. You’ll take FPGA designs from concept through deployment, contributing to systems that redefine connectivity in some of the harshest environments imaginable.

Join a dynamic, cross-functional team where collaboration and autonomy drive rapid innovation. You’ll play a key role in delivering flight-ready hardware that supports mission-critical communications across the globe and beyond.

This position would suit an FPGA engineer eager to take ownership of designs through the full lifecycle, with a passion for building robust, high-speed systems that will be deployed in aerospace and defense applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and verify FPGA circuits and systems at the HDL level.
  • Develop designs including high-speed serial interfaces, DSP cores, and multi-clock domain systems.
  • Conduct testing, validation, and verification using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and RF generators.
  • Present engineering design review materials to internal teams, executives, and customers.
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate FPGA solutions into broader system architectures.
  • Contribute to proposal-writing and support customer-facing technical documentation.
  • Drive improvements in verification processes and design methodologies.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in FPGA design, analysis, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in Verilog/VHDL and FPGA tools such as Vivado, Modelsim, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on lab experience with digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
