Principal Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) Engineer | Full Time, Permanent

Location: Westminster, Colorado (On-site)

A growing technology company developing advanced electronic and integrated systems is seeking a Principal Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) Engineer to join its engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys leading complex integration and test programmes, developing advanced test solutions, and working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the full product development lifecycle.

You’ll provide technical leadership while supporting the assembly, integration and validation of highly complex electronic systems in a hands-on engineering environment.

The Role

As a Principal AI&T Engineer, you’ll be responsible for defining test strategies, developing specialised test equipment and processes, leading integration activities, and ensuring products are successfully verified before release.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining requirements and developing electrical test systems and support equipment
  • Creating and maintaining integration and verification plans
  • Developing project schedules for integration and test activities
  • Validating electrical interfaces between products and test equipment
  • Leading assembly, integration and system-level testing
  • Developing and executing qualification and acceptance test programmes
  • Investigating test anomalies and leading root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Troubleshooting electrical and system integration issues
  • Leading readiness reviews and technical reviews
  • Analysing, documenting and presenting test data to engineering stakeholders
  • Writing and executing detailed test procedures
  • Supporting product validation from development through final acceptance
  • Promoting safe working practices within engineering laboratories
  • Working collaboratively across engineering, systems and programme teams

Required Experience

We’re looking for engineers with experience in many of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • 9+ years’ experience in assembly, integration and test of complex electronic or electromechanical systems
  • Experience developing test equipment and integration processes
  • Strong background in systems integration, verification and validation
  • Experience managing technical requirements and test documentation
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience working with automated test environments
  • Programming or scripting experience using Python or similar languages
  • Excellent communication and technical leadership skills

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • RF or high-frequency electronic systems
  • EMC/EMI testing and compliance
  • Environmental or qualification testing
  • Automated data acquisition and monitoring systems
  • Complex hardware integration programmes
  • Mentoring engineers and leading multidisciplinary technical teams
