Key Account Manager (m/w/d) – Defence Sector

Hybrid – Germany, with travel to client sites (approx. 30%)

We are seeking a Key Account Manager to join our client’s Defence Systems division on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be based in Germany and have a proven track record in selling complex, high-tech components or systems within the defence and military sector.

This position plays a vital role in driving sales growth, strengthening strategic partnerships, and promoting innovative solutions to major customers within the defence industry.

*Due to the nature of the role, EU citizenship is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer development: Manage and grow key accounts across multiple levels (engineering, project management, executive).
  • Sales strategy: Develop and implement innovative sales and account strategies for high-tech components and systems.
  • Growth initiatives: Identify and pursue new business opportunities and market segments.
  • Forecasting: Prepare and maintain accurate sales forecasts and reports.
  • Quotations: Coordinate the preparation of complex technical and commercial proposals, collaborating with internal teams.
  • Market analysis: Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to support strategic decision-making.
  • CRM management: Use CRM tools effectively to plan, document, and track all sales activities.
  • Team collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to achieve common business objectives.

Your Profile:

  • Education: Degree in engineering, business administration, or a comparable qualification.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in sales, account management, or business development-ideally within the defence, aerospace, or other high-technology sectors.
  • Network: Established and reliable professional network within the defence industry is advantageous.
  • Technical understanding: Experience with electromechanical, motion control, or similar complex technical solutions preferred.
  • Skills: Strong customer focus, negotiation skills, and ability to manage complex sales cycles.
  • Mindset: Proactive, strategic thinker with enthusiasm for innovation and growth.
  • Languages: Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
