We’re working with an advanced clean energy startup developing one of the world’s first portable, zero-emissions microreactors.

Designed for both remote operations and critical backup power, this technology could redefine how reliable, sustainable energy is delivered globally.

As an Electrical Test Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the development and execution of testing strategies for complex,safety-critical electrical systems. You’ll work hands-on with prototype hardware, covering power conversion, control systems, and instrumentation, while collaborating across engineering disciplines to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and document test plans for electrical subsystems including power electronics, control boards, and embedded systems
  • Design, build, and maintain automated and manual test setups for component and system-level validation
  • Troubleshoot issues during integration, performing root cause analysis and recommending design improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, nuclear, and software teams to ensure interface compatibility and complete test coverage
  • Ensure systems meet applicable regulatory standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, IEC) and support certification efforts with safety and quality documentation
  • Conduct hands-on work with high-voltage systems (up to 480VAC / 1000VDC)

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in electrical test engineering, ideally in high-reliability or safety-critical sectors (aerospace, automotive, energy)
  • Proficiency in circuit analysis, instrumentation, and modern test methodologies
  • Skilled in using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, DAQs) and test automation tools (Python, LabVIEW, etc.)
  • Experience with PCB bring-up, debugging, and failure analysis
  • Understanding of power electronics, including DC-DC converters and inverters
  • Ability to work on-site full-time and commit to extended hours when required

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. This role is 100% on-site in El Segundo, CA.
