Electrical Engineer
Location:
Hawthorne, California, United States
Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Package: $90,000 – $180,000 Base + Equity + Benefits + Flexible PTO

Are you an electrical engineer driven by hardware ownership, rapid iteration, and off-world ambition? This is your chance to design electronics that will operate in the most extreme environments, from lunar regolith to Martian dust, enabling the next era of human exploration.

Join a high-growth startup developing a full-stack lunar propellant production system, a critical stepping stone in building sustainable infrastructure on the Moon and Mars. You’ll design, manufacture, and test the electronic systems powering excavation, processing, and refuelling platforms, helping humanity become a multi-planet species.

This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys cross-disciplinary collaboration, and wants to take hardware from prototype to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and test PCBAs for motion control, power management, and communications.
  • Define and justify system requirements, conduct trade studies, and document design decisions.
  • Own hardware development across the full lifecycle, design, build, integration, and testing.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to ensure seamless system integration and manufacturability.
  • Establish qualification and acceptance criteria in line with aerospace standards (e.g. NASA SMC-S-016).
  • Support test campaigns with custom harnessing, fixtures, and ground support hardware.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience designing, building, and debugging PCBAs.
  • Strong hands-on capability, able to bring hardware from concept to production.
  • Passion for space hardware development and rapid prototyping.
  • Must meet ITAR/EAR requirements (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee).
