GNC / ADCS / Mission Control Engineer
Location:
Los Angeles, California, United States
Employment Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Package: Competitive Salary + Equity + Benefits + Flexible PTO

Are you a Satellite Systems Engineer from a hardware/software background, with a passion for automation, simulation, and intelligent design tools?

On offer is the opportunity to join a high-growth aerospace company pioneering the next generation of satellite design through advanced computational engineering. You’ll take ownership of digital frameworks that connect design models, mission simulations, and on-orbit performance, transforming how spacecraft are conceived, optimized, and built.

Join a team revolutionizing space systems engineering with automation that accelerates design cycles from months to days. You’ll architect intelligent workflows across orbital dynamics, GNC, and subsystem modeling, driving exponential gains in speed, accuracy, and innovation.

This position would suit a space systems engineer who codes, blending first-principles understanding with strong software development skills to redefine the engineering process from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and maintain automated design and analysis tools across mission analysis, systems engineering, and subsystem modeling.
* Develop frameworks for Multidisciplinary Design Analysis and Optimization (MDAO) to trade and optimize satellites for cost, performance, and schedule.
* Lead the design and simulation of spacecraft systems including ADCS, GNC, and orbital dynamics.
* Serve as the lead software engineer for the development of intelligent engineering workflows and simulations.
* Manage and analyze system-level budgets and mission performance metrics.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate spacecraft subsystems within a unified digital engineering environment.
* Troubleshoot complex system-level issues across hardware, software, and firmware.
* Mentor junior engineers and help foster a culture of innovation and excellence.

Essential Skills and Experience
* Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in spacecraft design, analysis, and simulation.
* Expertise in ADCS, GNC, orbital dynamics, or related subsystems.
* Proficiency in Python, C, or C++, with evidence of prior software development (GitHub or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of CI/CD methodologies and engineering process automation.
* Proven leadership and mentoring experience in an R&D or engineering environment.
* Excellent problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and collaborative mindset.
* Eligible for or possessing a U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
