Business Development Manager – Fluent in German and English
Hybrid – Germany, with travel to customer sites (approx. 30-50%)

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our client’s Defence Systems division on a full-time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and expanding the missile systems market across Germany and Europe, supporting long-term strategic growth in the defence sector.

This position offers a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial and operationally minded individual who is motivated to build new markets, drive business expansion, and shape the company’s presence in the European defence industry.

Due to the sensitive nature of the role, EU citizenship and fluency in German and English are required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Development: Lead the establishment and scaling of business activities in Germany, with a view to expanding across wider European markets.
  • Strategic Growth: Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with European defence growth objectives, particularly within the land, sea, and missile systems sectors.
  • Innovation & Opportunity: Identify emerging market trends and new business opportunities; contribute to the development of innovative solutions and go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the global Strategy, Growth & Innovation team and regional leadership to align market expansion initiatives.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor customer requirements, industry trends, and competitor activity to support informed strategic decision-making.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with internal teams across sales, engineering, and operations to achieve shared business goals.

Your Profile:

  • Education: Degree in engineering, business administration, or a related technical or commercial discipline.
  • Experience: Proven experience in business development or sales within the defence, aerospace, or other complex technology sectors; existing network within the defence industry is highly advantageous.
  • Strategic Mindset: Entrepreneurial thinker with the ability to identify opportunities early and translate them into actionable strategies.
  • Technical Understanding: Experience with electromechanical or motion control systems is an advantage.
  • Independent & Proactive: Self-driven, structured, and results-oriented, with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Languages: Fluent in German and English (both written and spoken).
  • Eligibility: Must hold EU citizenship due to security and defence network requirements.
