Project Manager – Space & Satellite Manufacturing

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in space and satellite manufacturing. You will oversee the end-to-end delivery of satellite projects: from build through to launch, ensuring manufacturing partners deliver to exacting standards, on time, and on budget. This role will see you balancing technical oversight with stakeholder management at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-end Project Delivery: Lead satellite build and launch projects, ensuring all milestones are met and deliverables align with technical and quality requirements.
On-site Oversight: Conduct regular visits to the satellite manufacturer to verify progress, inspect hardware, and ensure adherence to timelines and specifications.
Stakeholder Management: Report regularly to HQ in Central London, providing clear updates to internal teams, external partners, and senior stakeholders.
C-Suite Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership to identify and drive revenue-generating activities, including securing grants and bids (e.g., ESA applications).
Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential delays or technical issues in the build process.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed records of project progress, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contractual obligations.
About You
Experience: Proven project management experience in the space sector with a strong focus on satellite manufacturing.
Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of satellite build processes, quality control, and launch preparation.
Leadership: Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex, high-value projects.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently for on-site inspections and meetings.
Bonus Points: Experience in securing grants/funding (ESA, UKSA, Horizon Europe, etc.) and working in a startup or high-growth environment.
